一般的な消臭剤・芳香剤は悪臭分子を香り成分で包んで、悪臭をわからなくします。しかし、時間が経つと香り成分は無くなり、再び悪臭分子が空気中に蔓延し始めます。これでは一時しのぎで意味がありません。

Generic air-fresheners disguise bad odors by surrounding odor molecules with fragrance. Fragrance, however, disappears after a while, and odor molecules will again be spread in the air. This is only a short-term fix, it doesn't solve the problem.
