容易に酸素と反応して二酸化炭素になりやすい性質のある一酸化炭素が、磁土や釉薬内の鉄分から酸素を抜き取り、還元焼成特有の色あいが生まれます。
使用する釉薬によって完成時の色合いは様々ですが当社の還元焼成の商品はほんのり青みがかった深みのある白色に発色します。
