Among the poems of four seasons, those of automn are most collected in 'Hyakunin Isshu'( the Hundred Poems by One Hundred Poets ). It contains 20 poems of automn, while those of spring are 9. Moreover, considering the fact that most waka poets composed poems about Kyoto and Nara, it can be said to be true that automne of the ancient capitals was really atractive. We might also say that Kyoto in automn is the place where we can enjoy both the beauty of ancien capitals and that of nature. To enjoy automne leaves and temples in Kyoto in this season, Tofukuji temple and Nanzenji temple are popular and recommended.
