Mirador Project was begun in 2011 with the cooperation of Senshu University; its goal is to continue the work of Maria Reiche, who devoted her life to the Nazca Lines, and to preserve them for future generations against the environmental destruction that currently ravages them.

Safeguarding and maintaining the Nazca Lines will require a vast amount of funding, and moreover, this work will need to be carried out on a continual basis. Peru is a world leader in the production of silver, and this has inspired Mirador Project to plan fundraising activities using items made of Ag997, a high-purity silver material created through the efforts of Japan's advanced industrial science.
