ある夜ひーちゃんとママは窓から細い三日月を眺めていました。
「ひーちゃんみたいなみかづきさん。」
ママにそう言われたひーちゃんは、毎晩三日月を見守ります。
細かった三日月も、やがて大きなまんまるお月様に。
「ママみたいにおとなになったんだね。」とひーちゃん。
でもまんまるお月様、今度はどんどん細く欠けていくみたい。
ひーちゃんはとっても心配。
そしてついにお月様は消えてしまいました。
「ママ おつきさまがきえちゃった。ママもいつかきえちゃうの？」不安で泣き出しそうなひーちゃんにママは…。
One night Little Hii and her mom were gazing out the window at the slender new moon.
"The new moon is like you, Little Hii."
Little Hii watched over the new moon every night as her mom told her.
The new moon, once so slender, before long turned into a big, round moon.
"It grew up just like you, Mommy," said Little Hii.
But the round moon now seemed to be getting thinner and thinner.
Little Hii was very worried.
And finally the moon completely disappeared.
"Mommy, the moon is gone! Will you go someday too?"
Her mom said to Little Hii who burst into tears out of worry...
