この実験では最初にspatial cueというリーチ運動のゴールを提示され、その後にルール"direct"(spatial cue方向)か"inferred"(spatial cueが呈示された方向の逆の方向)が呈示されて、サルはゴールへのリーチ行動を生成する。この時サルのPPCのニューロン集団は、呈示されたゴールは１つだったにも関わらず、direct とinferred の2つのルールそれぞれに対応するPotential Actionsを同時に表現する。
In the experiment, we set a reach exercise goal named spatial cue and then apply a behavior rule of "direct" (in the direction of spatial cue) or "inferred" (in the opposite direction of spatial cue) and the monkey will generate a behavior to reach the goal. Although there is only 1 goal registered, the monkey's PPC neuronal activity will express Potential Actions that correspond to both "direct" and "inferred" behavioral rules.
