呉越同舟と言う四字熟語がある。仲の悪い者同士や敵味方が、同じ境遇にいる事から協力したり助け合ったりする事だ。由来は中国春秋時代の呉と越の宿敵同士国がモデルになっている。孫子の兵法でもよく引用されている。要は状況次第でいつでも変わると言う教訓でもある。実は日本人には到底馴染まない。
There is a saying: "bitter enemies placed in the same boat." It's where people who are on bad terms or are enemies have to cooperate and help each other out. The origin is modeled from the longtime enemy countries known as Wu and Yue during China's Spring and Autumn Period. It is frequently referenced in Sun Tzu's The Art of War. It's also a teaching that, in short, states to always change depending on the situation. To be honest, it is not something that can ever work with Japanese.
