筆者らは実験参加者に100コマくらいのマンガを与え、5コマ～20コマに要約させ、実験参加者の要約力を測定するテストを研究している。過去の実験では、多数の実験参加者が選択したコマを単純に並べれば、良い要約になっていた。言い換えれば、マンガの要約において集合知はきわめて有効に機能した。しかし、外国語のマンガでも集合知が機能するかは不明である。
本研究は、日本人に英語のマンガを与えて要約させた結果を報告する。将来は、英語のテストにマンガを利用することも想定している。
The authors study a test in which they give the subjects in this experiment cartoons with 100 scenes, make them summarize the scenes to 5 through 20 ones, and survey how well the subjects can summarize stories. In
the previous experiment, it was deemed a good summary if a number of those subjects just laid the scenes consecutively. In other words, collective intelligence worked quite well in the process of summarizing cartoon stories.。But it is unknown whether collective intelligence would work in cartoons in
foreign languages.
This study reports the result of a case where we give Japanese subjects cartoons in English and make them
summarize the stories. We also assume that cartoons will be used for English tests in the future.
