Someday, I hope someone will call me “Mommy.” I hope he’ll (if he’s a boy) hold his little chubby fingers outstretched, pleading with me in big, oversized and beautiful baby eyes, clenching and unclenching her (if she’s a girl) sweet, little hands in my direction as she motions for me to lift her high off the ground and into my arms, where safety and comfort await.
Someday, I hope that someone will curl up on my chest with fresh-washed hair, smelling so intoxicatingly baby-like that it hits me hard in the gut, stealing my breath away.
Algún día, espero que alguien me llame "Mamá." espero que (si es que es un niño) sostenga sus pequeños dedos gorditos extendidos, rogándome en unos grande, muy grandes y hermosos ojos de bebé, apretando y aflojando (si es una muchacha) sus dulces, pequeñas manos en mi dirección ya que me hace señas para levantarla alto del suelo y cogerla en brazos, donde la seguridad y la comodidad esperan.
Un día, espero que alguien se acurruque en mi pecho con el pelo lavado y fresco, oliendo tan embriagadoramente a bebé tanto que me golpea con fuerza en la tripa, quitándome la respiración.
