日本コンベンション事業協会(CPA/分部日出男会長)と日本PCO協会(JAPCO/近浪弘武代表幹事)は6月5日、両団体を統合し、新団体設立に向けた協議を進めるために合意したことを発表した。1年後の統合を目指す。
6月3日に予備的合意書に調印しており、新組織は2015年6月をめどに調整を進めるという。JAPCOが一般社団法人化移行し、一般社団法人同士の統合となる見込みだ。
MICE産業を牽引してきた両団体の統合によって日本MICEの進むべき方向性が明確になる。
Convention Planners Association of Japan (CPA, Chairman: Hideo Wakebe) and Japan Association of Professional Congress Organizers (JAPCO, Secretary-general: Hirotake Chikanami) has announced that they have agreed to start discussion for establishing a new organization by merging two organizations on June 5. They are planning to merge two organization in one year.
They have signed the provisional agreement on June 3, and they are going to discuss for establishing the new organization by June, 2015. For merging, JAPC is going to transform to a general incorporated association, and the merging will be both general incorporated association.
The merging of both organization driving the MICE industry will clarify the direction of MICE in Japan.
