国際会議件数世界７位に上昇
国際会議協会（ICCA）は、2013年に世界で開催された国際会議数の統計（暫定値）を発表した。それによると昨年世界で開催された国際会議は前年を 529 件上回る 11,685 件。そのうち日本で開催されたものは342件で、アジア・大洋州地域では ２ 年連続１位となり、世界での順位も昨年の８位から 7 位に上昇した。
2011 年に東日本大震災の影響から大きく減少した開催件数が、一昨年および昨年の日本の国際会議開催件数は上昇基調を取り戻した。
