蛤碁石は常に簡単にでも乾拭きしておくとよい。汚れが酷い場合は、水に数分浸し、軽く水洗いしてから、乾いた布で水分を十分に拭き取る。その後、すぐに碁石入れに入れず日光乾燥か陰干いする。
【注意】蛤碁石はお湯や石鹸、洗剤などで洗うと石の石灰分をもろくしてかけ易くなるので、
特にご注意。
【注意】新しい碁石入れに収納したままだと、碁石の色が変色する場合もあるので、普段は碁石入れと
碁石の間に布地などでしきっておくとよい。これで碁笥の中で碁石がかけることも
少なくなる。
