●A 47-year-old man was admitted to this hospital because
of abdominal pain.
The patient was in his usual state of health until 5 weeks before admission, when
diffuse abdominal pain developed, most severe in the lower right quadrant and radiating
to the right side and back; it decreased slightly with leaning forward, increased
with other movements, including walking, and prevented him from sleeping.
He went to an urgent care clinic at a health center affiliated with this hospital.
Computed tomographic (CT) scans of the abdomen and pelvis 4.5 years before admission,
obtained after the oral and intravenous administration of contrast material,
were interpreted as normal.

この患者の入院５週間前までの健康状態は良好であったが、右下腹部４分の１区と右側と背中にびまん性の腹痛が起こった時、前のめりになることで少し楽になったが、歩いたり他の動きをすることで痛みがひどくなり眠りを妨げるまでになった。患者はこの病院付属の医療センターの緊急医療センターを訪れた。
入院の４～５年前に腹部と骨盤を撮ったコンピューター断続撮影（ＣＴ）では、撮影の前に造影剤を経口投与と静脈投与されたものが正常であると診断されていました。
