Seals have a long history in Japan. 1800 years ago in Yamatai-koku, they already had a seal of gold. The emperor has one, which is called the imperial seal, to stamp on official documents including the Constitution.
In Japan, a seal is believed to define its holder's luck by the number of lines of the letters it contains, or by directions; north, south, east and west; or by the people who engraved it.
Therefore, some Japanese business leaders are very scrupulous about the designs of the letters on their seals.

The sculptor, Mr. Suzuki, is a father- to-son seal sculptor whose shop stands near an old temple in Japan.
今の日本では安価な印鑑は機械で文字を彫ってしまいますが、鈴木さんはすべて手彫りで文字を仕上げる数少ない職人の一人です。
運勢についての知識も深く、その人の名前に応じて、最もよいデザインの印鑑を制作してくれます。
鈴木さんが彫った印鑑で幸運を手に入れた人も数多くいて、恋愛運、仕事運、金銭運に悩む人もお店にやってきます。
日本語には漢字、ひらがな、カタカナと3つの文字がありますが、日本の公的な文書に押す印鑑の場合、外国人の名前はカタカナで書くのが一般的です。

There's 3 types of characters in Japan; Kanji, Hiragana and Katakana, but for a seal that is used to stamp an official document, generally, uses Katakana for foreign names.

印鑑の材質は「柘植の木$50」と「水牛の角$100」の2つがあります。注文を受けてから発送するまでに4～7日ほどかかります。
注文する際はご希望のデザインを以下のNo.1～5のサンプル画像を選んで、番号を私たちに知らせてください。

And of course, not only we make seals that in foreign language notations, but we can carve out patterns as well. If you have a design that you have in mind, please attach the image in the e-mail and send it to us.
We have 2 choice of material for the seal; [$50 for boxwood] and [$100 for buffalo horn]. It will take 4 - 7 days from the day the order is placed to the day of delivery.

No.1 あなたの名前をカタカナで彫ります。円形の印鑑に2行で文字を彫るので、上は名前、下は苗字になります。日本の公的な文書に使える印鑑です。
No.2 あなたの名前を外国語表記で彫ります。
No.3 あなたの名前を漢字で彫ります。私たちはあなたのイメージい合った漢字を選びます。文字数が最大で7文字なので、名前または苗字のどちらを彫るか選んでください。日本の公的な文書に使うのは難しいですが、銀行などでは使えます。
No.4 あなたの名前をカタカナと外国語表記で彫ります。
No.1 We will curve your name with Katakana. We will curve your name on a round shape seal with two lines so that your first name will be above and your family name will be below. It can be used on Japanese public statements.
No.2 We will curve your name with non-Japanese language.
No.3 We will curve your name with Kanji. We will choose the best character for you. 7 characters are the maximum, so please choose either your first name or family name for your seal. It may not be used for Japanese public statements, however, it can be used at a bank.
No.4 We will curve your name with both Katakana and non-Japanese language.
No.5 あなたの名前のイメージに合った漢字1～4文字と外国語表記で彫ります。
No.6 あなたが用意した画像を彫ります。JPEG形式の画像かPDFで私たちにメールをください。手彫りですので、完全に画像と一致することはないので、ご了承ください。

No.5 We will carve from 1 to 4 Kanji character that suits your image or foreign language notations.
No.6 We will carve the seal according to the image you provided. Please send an image that is in either JPEG image file or PDF file. It will be hand carved, so please understand that there will be slight difference with the image provided.
We will be using the best technology to carve out the letters of the world.
The seal is to the modern day Japanese as the sword were to the samurai. It is the spiritual object that holds a soul.
Before carving the design, a rough copy will be drawn out. With the number of stroke of the character and the writing direction of the character, a design that will be blessed with good luck will be created.
