4. Customize Your Pitches

People generally don’t like to be part of blast emails, and journalists are no exception. When you want a particular person to cover your story, customize your pitch to be relevant to his coverage area and audience.

Take the extra time to craft custom emails for a small list of journalists that you really want to cover your story. They will most likely notice that you’ve taken the time to write a thoughtful email and be more likely to respond.

I am pretty sure that this has had the rim ground down to get rid of a chip as I believe they were origionally larger but this process has not infringed on the detail of the fish and it still displays well as a decorative piece and wont cost the £500 plus that it would have. After $10 Million Investment Round, Affle Eyes China and Japan

Singapore-based start-up, Affle has received $10 million in fresh funds from D2C several weeks ago. I sat down with Anuj Khanna Sohum, the founder and CEO of Affle, to find out more about his future plans and vision for the company. The chat was fun and Anuj is certainly one of the more experienced entrepreneurs in Singapore’s tech space who I have spoken to.

Everything looks to be in order as Anuj seems to have masterminded the entire road map for Affle. When asked why he decided to take up Japanese mobile ad agency, D2C’s investment offer, Anuj explained that the investment works more like a partnership than an investment. He said he could have gotten $10 million from other investors, but D2C’s investment cemented this partnership further as both companies found it fit their business model and market expertise.

With D2C’s expertise and wide network, Affle can easily grow in Japan. While D2C can also offer its clients ad inventories managed by Affle, particularly in India and Indonesia, thus, creating a win-win cross-selling opportunity.

Naver Japan’s Free Messenger App Hits 2 Million Downloads In Just 3 Months

It was back in June when Naver Japan, a Japanese local subsidiary of Korea’s search portal giant, introduced a mobile messenger app called Line. It enables free IP phone calls and group chat among up to 100 users at a time. On Friday, the company announced the app has remarkably hit more than 2 million downloads in just three months since its release.

Both the iPhone and Android apps are available for free. By registering your friends with their phone numbers, you are allowed to only connect with other users you know well. For group chatting with foreign language speakers, interpretation assistant functions were recently added, which helps you communicate in Japanese, Chinese, and English.

In Apple’s Appstore Social Networking category ranking, the app reached the top in Japan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, UAE, Singapore, Malaysia, Macau, and Hong Kong.

"In foreign countries, mobile operators mostly provide their users with no e-mail service, unlike Japanese operators. The users have no option other than SMS as text messaging and are required to pay for it additionally."

The company’s chief strategist of business development, Mr. Jun Masuda, says.

"Not a few messenger apps have been introduced, but we suppose our app [has gotten] a high reputation because it’s absolutely free."

The company expects to add video call and group call functions shortly.

Japanese Ad Company Mediba To Open Singapore Office

Japan’s Mediba Inc., an advertising unit owned by KDDI, announced today that it would be establishing an office in Singapore, in an effort to support its expanding business serving the rapidly growing Asian smartphone market.

The company said in its release that it is considering branches in Korea, China, Indonesia, and India as well. This of course, continues in a trend of Japanese internet companies tempted to look abroad by the allure of the smartphone market outside the nation’s borders.

日本の KDDI 傘下の広告企業 mediba Inc. は、シンガポール駐在所を開設すると本日発表した。この動きは、急速に成長を遂げているアジアのスマートフォン市場における当企業の事業サービス展開に対応するものである。

Diligent readers may recall that we mentioned Mediba earlier this evening when we looked at Milog, which collects data about Android users with its Applog service. Milog is supported by Mediba, who stands to gain much from the data collected by the app.

The 72xxx has a great mid-range presence, just a really "meaty" core. And the straphook is in the wrong place, unfortunately. I may have forgot to mention that in the video. We could either move it over (which would leave light evidence of a resolder), or we could build an extension that fixes the balance issues that come with misplaced neckstrap.

Yes, we removed the pickup and had our dent specialist, Aaron, plug the hole that was left. He does really great work with necks that have been damaged, and he did an excellent job with the pickup on this one.
Between the 72xxx and the 122xxx, the 122xxx is by far more free-blowing and perhaps slightly darker. It's a very fun horn to play! The 72xxx has a little more punch to it, but that's part of the resistance.
