長く使って頂く為に
中性洗剤を使用し、30℃程度のぬるま湯で軽く押し洗いしてください。
洗濯ネットに入れて30秒ほど脱水し、形を整えてから、陰干し又はタオルの上で平干しにして下さい。
化繊の製品の場合は当て布をしてからアイロンしてください。
乾燥機、漂白、長時間の着け置きはしないでください。

暖簾とは
暖簾は古来より日よけや塵よけに用いられていましたが、江戸時代から屋号や商標を染め抜き看板や広告の目的に使われ始め、現在では間仕切りやタペストリーとして使われることも一般的になっています。

For longer use, wash it with warm water around 30 degrees by rubbing it gently with moderate cleanser.
Put it in the laundry bag and dry it for around 30 second, dry it horizontally on a towel in the shade while shaping it.
If it is synthetic fiber, please iron it with cloth covering.
Please do not put it in dryer or or in bleach for long.

About Noren
Noren is use to prevent sunlight and dust from the ancient time, but from the Edo period, it started to be used as house number plate or commercial advertisement board. Now, it is common to use it as space divider or tapestry.

一般的には三毛猫ですが現在は種類も増えており、諸説ありますが恋愛運（桃）や魔除け（黒）など、様々な意味を持つようになっています。

About Manekineko (beckoning cat)
In the past, cat was a lucky charm for silkworm culturing in the past as it exterminate rats which eat the agriculture product and silkworm, but it is now used as a lucky charm for business prosperity since silkworm culturing has deteriorated.
It brings wealth by raising its right hand (front limb) and attract people (customers) by raising its left hand (front limb).
Usually, it is calico cat but now there are more species for different purposes like love life (pink) or protection against evil (black) according to various rumours.
All in all, it is a cute talisman.

モノクロは1986年。新宿センタービル前から西に向かって撮影をした。左は京王プラザホテル。実はこの位置から富士山が見えたので撮影をしたのだ。写真ではあまりわからないが中央左の遠いビルの右側にうっすらと見えている。見つけたときには新宿のビル群のまっただ中、高台に上がらず地面の上から富士山が見えたのにとても感動したのを覚えている。今では都庁が建った。カラー2011年撮影。

The monochrome was taken in 1986. It was taken from the front of Shinjuku Center towards the west. On the left is Kyo-o Plaza Hotel. In fact, I chose this location because Mt Fuji is visible for the spot. You can't really see it in the picture but you can find it faintly on the right of the building which is located at the far middle-left of the photo. When I found this on the picture, I recall the touching moment as I could see Mt Fuji from the ground among the cluster of the buildings, instead of a higher platform. Now, the Tokyo Government Office is built. The colour version was taken in 2011.

上野駅正面玄関口をおりてすぐの所にある飲屋街。1990年（モノクロ写真）に撮影したときは飲み助が好きそうな飲屋街、夜きてみたいなぁと思いシャッターをきったがその後来ることもなかった。2011年に21年ぶりに来て同じ店があるのに感動した。
あれ？まてよ　三男坊　やま　ひで　すいせん　狼の館　調べてみたらゲイタウンだった。

It is a pub street just outside of the front entrance of Ueno station. When I took this monochrome photo in 1990 , I thought this pub street must be popular among the heavy drinkers and wish to see it in night as I pressed the shutter but I never returned. When I return in 2011, after 21 years, I was so touched that the same shop is still there.
