残念なことに、私はレンタカーの返却で美瑛を朝6時に離れなければならなかった。帰る途中にほかにも美瑛の名所をいくつか回ったがやはり哲学の木だけは存在感が大きかった。それから札幌のホテルに帰って夕方まで爆睡した。実はその日の前日はコンビニの夜勤をしてそのまま大阪までバスで移動して関西国際空港から新千歳空港まで飛行機に乗って、それから札幌まで電車で移動し、そのまますぐに美瑛まで運転した。ほぼ48時間眠っていなかったが、あの土地から感じた感動でﾎﾃﾙに帰るまで眠さを完全に忘れていた。

Unfortunately I had to leave Biei 6 in the morning to return the car I rented. On the way back I visited famous places in Biei, but notbaly the tree of philosophy showed its huge existence. After that I went back to the hotel, crashed into bed and slept till evening. Actually the day before that I was working at the convenience store all night then went straight to Osaka by bys, then took a flight from Kansai International Airport to Shinchitose Airport, then took train to Sappro and drove whole way to Biei. I hadn't slept for almost 48 hours, but I forgot all about that until I came back to the hotel because I was so moved to feel that place.

私は観光地として好きな場所は沢山あるがそこに住みたいと思ったことは一度もない。あるとすれば日本ではなくテレビ番組で見たような欧米の街ぐらいだ。テレビの番組などでヨーロッパの町で現地の人に自分の町の好きなところをインタビューする場面をよく見るが、その受け答えを聞くと彼らの多くは自分の町に誇りを持っていて、そこ地ある歴史なんかも詳しく語ることができる人が多いように思う。つまり私が言いたいのは、日本人は欧米人に比べて自分の住む町に誇りを持っている人は少ないのではないかという事だ。

There are many tourist sites that I love, but I've never felt like living there. If there is one, it's not in Japan but cities in Europe seen on TV programs. I often see on TV programs when local people in European cities are asked what they like about their cities, it seems to me that many of them answer they're proud of their own cities and are able to introduce their history in details. What I want to say is compared to Europeans and Americans, not many Japanese people are proud of their own cities they live in.

One of our favorite teams is Vachara (nickname Kuk) from Computerlogy who is a winner of Facebook World Hack 2012 in Jakarta by making Do Something in seven hours. He also has an awesome product, SocialEnable, which is a kick ass social media monitoring tool.

With Indonesia Liking Android, Has RIM Lost its Last Blackberry Stronghold?

Kompas wrote up an interesting interview with three big gadget vendors during the annual Indonesian IT exhibition, Indocomtech, which finished yesterday after running for a week. The verdict: Android phones are becoming more popular compared to Blackberry devices this year – and that’s proved by Android winning the event’s sales race.

Kompasは昨日まで1週間開催されていた年に一度のインドネシアIT展示会Indocomtechにて3大ガジェット販売者に興味深いインタビューを行った。結果は、今年はAndoroid電話がBlackberryデバイスよりも人気が高くなりつつあるということだ。イベントでの販売レースにおいてもAndroidが勝利した。

First, the Indonesian gadget vendor Erafone said that out of 1,200 gadgets sold at Indocomtech up to Saturday, 800 of them were Android devices, with Blackberrys making up the remaining 400. A second vendor, Global Teleshop, said that during this year’s event, the ratio/percentage of Android and Blackberry devices sold was 60:40, compared to last year when the sales numbers were equal. The third vendor is OkeShop, which said that Blackberry has been dethroned by Samsung for the number one position as the most popular mobile gadget in terms of sales at the event. The rising popularity of Samsung devices was also pointed out by Erafone. And so that’s a 3-0 win for Android among those retailers.
