This grad prix is a contest to compete skills organized by Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and craftsmen nationwide from various industries gather biennially.

Normally the participants consist of young group like my age, from 30s to 40s who belong to the association. However, as there was no candidate from Chiba prefecture, Mr. Takayanagi nominated himself to participate.

I feel frustrated at my self not being skillful enough to participate. I guess Mr.Takayanagi was in various position, but he set aside his pride to challenge it. His attitude was indeed worthy of admiration.

What I can do for paperhanging may have certain limitation, but I hope to keep my passion toward it.

My favorite movies have common theme, human drama stories. I repeatedly watch the movies I like. I have no interest in thinking deeply or evaluating each movie. I just like to simply watch movies. My favorite moveis "Forrest Gump", this is my faovorite since I was in second grade. "Forrest Gump" is a story of tumultuous time in US. If you know world history, you can understand the humor in the story better, and makes it even more interesting. Main character is named Forrest, he was mentally challenged.

I always liked watching movies. However I don't like watching movies in movie theaters. The best way is to watch movies alone. I began watching many movies when I was a university student. Before that I used to go to video rental shop with my parents and asked them to rent some. But since I was embarassed to let them know the kind of movies I wanted to watch, I came to rent movies by myself. It only costs 100 yen for one movie. I'd rather watch 20 old movies at home than going to a movie theater and pay 2,000 yen to watch one new movie. I hate movie theaters.

In the urban area where I live, there are many people living in a narrow land. I wonder how many people live in one condominium. I had never lived in a place like condominium. First time I lived in such a place was when I rented a room in the center of Sapporo this September. The condominium looked rather desolate, I heard no voice from the upper floor and the room next to me. However, the corridor outside my entrance is very quiet so I naturally become careful when going out or when I return not to make any sound. I feel uneasy even when I unlock my door and metals touch and make sound. Therefore, I led my life very carefully not to make any sound even in daytime.

I moved into the room at the beginning of September. The room is located in the center of Sapporo city, within 10 minutes walk to shopping area. Hokkaido is a summer retreat in Japan. Kakao Launches Free Group Voice Chat with Some Interesting Features

After a day of testing the service to ensure call quality was good enough, Korea-based Kakao announced today that it has launched what it calls the world’s first HD voice free mobile group Call service. In English, what that means is this: Kakao Talk now features group voice chat with high quality audio for up to five participants, and it’s all still free. Users can even make group calls over 3G or LTE connections, and Kakao claims that even with the high quality audio, this won’t make a huge dent in users’ monthly data allotment.

Kakao Talk is a chat app that already has 66 million users worldwide, and distinguishes itself from competitors in part with the voice filters users can apply to their voices while using the app to chat. The new group call feature also allows for voice filters, and users who connect to a conversation can then disconnect and reconnect at their leisure, so long as at least one or two of the other parties have remained on the line.

Recipe Sharing Service Douguo Raised $8M Series B from GGV Capital

Local news broke that Douguo, the Chinese recipe sharing network, raised a US$ 8 million Series B round of financing from GGV Capital couple months ago. The venture capital disclosed the funding this August along with its announcement of completing fund raising for its fourth fund.

Duogou was founded by Wang Yuxiang and former VP of 7k7k.com, a social gaming site. 7k7k is also a portfolio company of GGV.

GGV Capital raised US$ 625 million for its fourth fund which invested Chinese startups including Meilishuo (social ecommerce), RedYellowBlue Kid’s Education (education) and Douguo (recipe sharing).
