People go on the 88 temple pilgrimage around the island of Shikoku for a myriad of reasons—some looking for forgiveness, some to honor a commitment to a deceased family member, some merely looking to experience the beauty of Shikoku. I came to this centuries old Buddhist pilgrimage hoping to gain a foothold into my past, and insight into my future. Equipped with only a backpack, guidebook and a sense of adventure, I calmly took my first step into what turned out to be a life-changing experience.

Pilgrimage is a fundamental part of many world religions; from the Hajj in Islam and the Kumbh Mela in Hinduism to the pilgrimages to Santiago and Rome in Christianity.

يذهب الناس على الحج 88 معبد في جميع أنحاء جزيرة شيكوكو لعدد لا يحصى من أسباب بعض تبحث عن الغفران، وبعض لتكريم التزام لأحد أفراد العائلة المتوفين، وبعض مجرد يتطلعون إلى تجربة جمال شيكوكو. جئت إلى هذا قرون الحج البوذية القديمة أملا في الحصول على موطئ قدم في حياتي الماضية، ونظرة ثاقبة مستقبلي. مجهزة فقط على ظهره، دليل وإحساس المغامرة، أخذت بهدوء أول خطوة لي في ما تبين أن تكون تجربة الحياة المتغيرة.

الحج هو جزء أساسي من العالم العديد من الأديان؛ من الحج في الإسلام والهندوسية في ميلا كومبه إلى الحج إلى سانتياغو وروما في المسيحية.

Before watching the premier of "Life Itself" at the Sundance Film Festival, I would not have guessed how much the documentary about my dear Roger would affect me. Steve James' film, adapted from Roger's memoir of the same name, was, in a word, magnificent, and it left me emotionally drained.


The experience was bittersweet, mostly because Roger wasn't there to share it with me. Still, I found great joy in a movie that showed a side of him the public rarely sees: his life as a family man and loving grandfather.

قبل مشاهدة الفلم " الحباة نفسها" في مهرجان ساندانس , لم اكن اضن كيف ستوئثر وثائقية روجر علي, افلام ستيف جونز استلهمت من قبل ذكريات روجر بنفس الكلمات والاسماء رائعة و قد تركتني استنزف مشاعري .
التجرية كانت اكثر رائعة غالبا لكن روجر غير موجود ليشاركنا بها , انا وجدت متعه كبيرة في الفلم الذي عرض جانب من حياته علنا : حياته كرجل عائلة وجد محبوب.

One scene that made me tear up was my granddaughter Raven talking about how much Roger taught her about movies, books and life. He was such an important part of his grandchildren's lives, and the movie was a painful reminder to me that he is no longer here for them.
As I reflect on my week at Sundance, I am happy that I waited to see the completed film with the Sundance audience and gratified that my son, Jay, daughter, Sonia, and Raven were at my side. My family is a source of strength to me, and they too are still mourning Roger's death, so the experience was a sort of catharsis for us.

مشهد واحد جعلني ابكي عندما حفيدتي رافن تكلمت على روجر كم كان يعلمها على الافلام والكتب والحياة , لقد كان جزء مهما في حياة حفيدته وكان الفلم ذكرى مؤلمه بالنسبة الي لنه لم يعد موجود بالنسبة لهم.
وكا انعكاس على اسبوعي في مهرجان سان دانس , ان فرح في انتظاري الفلم كاملا مع جماهير المهرجان وممتن لابني جاي وابنتي سونيا ورافن كونهم الى جانبي.
عائلتي مصدر قوي بالنسبة الي , وانهم ايضا الى صباحيه موت روجر , والتجريه كانت نوع ما متنفس بالنسبة الينا.

"Black Coffee" is the kind of movie where a character quotes the tired old warhorse "If you love something set it free (etc.)", and it is treated like a profound and original statement. Someone also says "Whatever is meant to be will be" (multiple times) and that is also treated like a profundity. Directed by Mark Harris, "Black Coffee" starts with a quote attributed to "Anonymous" that goes on and on for a bit about what a "gifted man" deserves, a "gifted woman" and "God" being involved. That's your first clue that you're about to watch a movie with an agenda, and it's the agenda that matters, not character, not story.

القهوة السوداء , انها نوع من الافلام حيث الممثل يقنبس من حصان الحرب القديم المتعب " اذا كنت تحب شي اجعله مجانا" وانها تعامل مثل الخطاب الاصلي. شخص ما يقول ايضا" متما عنيت ان تكون ستكون "( مكررة ) و هذا ايضا يعامل مثل التفكير الشديد. اخراج مارك هارس , " قهوة سوداء " يبدء بقتباس الى مجهول الذي يؤدي الى بعض رجل موهوب يستحق امراة موهوبه براعاية الله. الانطباع الاول في مشاهدة الفلم يجعلك تذهب الى برنامج , وهذا البرنامج مهم , بغض النظر علن القصه او الممثل.
