Christian Bale is in the same boat as Dench and Thompson in the actress category: his previous nods from major groups give him an 86% chance of scoring an Oscar nomination. That is still slightly better than Robert Redford, who surprisingly did not get a Screen Actors' Guild nod. He did win the top honor from the New York Film Critics Circle, though; their choice of best actor has not failed to grab an Academy Award nomination since Paul Giamatti won best actor from the NYFCC winner for "Sideways" in 2004 but didn't get an Oscar nod for his lead performance, a conspicuous snub.

Instead of having a straight-forward plot, Colella's film is comprised of a series of successive episodes. Over time, protagonists become more, though thankfully not completely, comfortable in each other's company. It's telling that the scene where Curtis's believably uptight dad Simon (David A. Parker) bonds with Syd, and his friends is a scene where Simon spontaneously composes and performs a jokey song about Syd's "dingley-dangley" penis. When everyone, especially Syd, laughs, it's one sign among many of how comfortable Colella is in her film's milieu. She knows exactly when to use an extreme close-up (sparingly!),

and the importance of letting her characters reveal themselves through little gestures. In fact, while "Breakfast with Curtis" is weakest when Colella has to prove that her characters have changed over the course of the film, the film is otherwise consummately relaxed. "Breakfast with "Curtis" is believably generous where most coming-of-age stories are unbelievable. It doesn't try too hard to impress you with its candor: it's just naturally likable.

"These days the words old maid or spinster may be dismissed as outdated, even cruel, but cat lady is still bandied about unreservedly and with the same intent: as a derogatory term for an unattached female. A single woman in a Mrs. Whatsit getup of coffee-stained schlubby layers who reads dog-eared paperbacks, never misses her shows, eats from cans along with her furry wards. Who hasn’t got laid in decades and couldn’t if she tried. Who languishes in a cramped, overheated, urine-stained apartment piled high with dirty dishes, cigarette smoke, ratty furniture, and, of course, cat hair.

As they're expressed, the formula-enforced expectations required of "Khumba"'s story are pretty depressing. So not only is it impossible for a pre-adolescent kid to not have a romantic interest, but apparently, he has to be so literal-minded that he doesn't understand that something called "the Magic Waterhole" isn't real. Okay, okay, that's not that bad. But what about the little campfire song-and-dance Bradley does to explain that he's been "ostracized," or the depressing revelation that the character that sounds like a bad Richard E. Grant impersonator is actually Richard E. Grant? Or the latently racist wise-black-woman schtick that Devine is stuck with?

إن تركيبة الآمال المطلوبة من قصة "كومبا" محبطة كثيرا كما تم التعبير عنها. فإنه ليس فقط من المستحيل على فتى فى بداية المراهقة ألا يكون له اهتمامات رومانسية بل وبوضوح أيضا لابد أن يكون لديه عقل موضوعى يستطيع أن يفهم أن الشئ المسمى "البركة السحرية" ليس حقيقيا. حسنا .. حسنا هذا ليس بهذا السوء ، ولكن ماذا عن الرقصة والأغنية الصغيرة التى غناها برادلى على نيران المعسكر ليشرح فيها أنه مسحور، والأثر المحبط الذى تركه فى نفسه ذلك الشخص المقلد لريتشارد إ جرانت فى حالة سيئة ربما هو فعلا ريتشارد إ جرانت؟ أو المرأة السوداء الحكيمة التى تخفى عنصريتها شتيك التى علق معها ديفاين؟

Or Nora's cliched tuberulosis-like illness? Or Laurence Fishburne's insubstantial role? Or the fact that Phango lives in "the Valley of Desolation?" Or the rote last-minute revelation that Phango and Khumba are "destined" to fight each other?

The above list of grievances seems made of minor irritations, but together, they outline the gaping hole where the film's charms should be. It'd be one thing if "Khumba"'s creators were too eager-to-please, but nobody here seems to care. Animated movies by Studio Ghibli and Pixar are as refreshing as they are because they don't just give their audiences what they think they want.

إن مجموعة الشكاوى السابقة تبدو مصنوعة من مضايقات صغيرة ولكنها تصنع مجتمعة حدود الفجوة والتى تمثل روعة هذا الفيلم . إنها قد تمثل شيئا لو أن صناع شخصة كومبا كانوا حريصين على إسعاده، ولكن يبدو أن أحدا لايهتم. إن أفلام الرسوم لستوديو جيبلى وبيكسار كما هى منعشة دائما لأنهم ببساطة لايعطون لمشاهديهم مايعتقدون أنهم يريدون.

It should be noted that the coastal trail, while well-maintained, offers little in the way of facilities or mobile phone coverage. A girl often dreams about myriads of silver-white Lycoris in full bloom.
One day, on the way home with her older brother-like relative, Tomoyuki, the girl encountered an accident in the subway station. Amidst the chaos, she witnessed a commotion between a vampire with eyes in the color of the blood red ruby, and a foxspirit.　Without any warning, the two started to lay claims on the girl. Tomoyuki struggled to protect the girl, but his powers as a human is futile against the mythical beings.

فى يوم من الأيام وفى طريقها للعودة إلى منزلها كانت تلك الفتاة -الحالمة بملايين المذؤوبين البيض الفضيون عند اكتمال القمر- مع قريبها الذى يكبرها وفى منزلة أخيها المدعو تومويوكى ، تعرضت تلك الفتاة لحادث فى محطة قطار الأنفاق، ففى خضم الفوضى شاهدت مشادة بين مصاص دماء ذى عيون فى لون الياقوت الدامى الأحمر وآخر بروح الثعلب ، وبدون أى مقدمات بدأ كلاهما فى إلقاء اللوم على الفتاة . كافح تومويوكى من أجل حماية الفتاة ولكن قدراته كإنسان كانت محدودة فى مواجهة هذه المخلوقات الأسطورية.

Two middle-aged students take their old teacher out to dinner, and he gets thoroughly drunk and is overtaken by sadness. We are alone in life, he tells them. Always alone. He lives with his daughter, who takes care of him, who has never married, who will be left all alone when he dies. He tells Hirayama, the hero of "An Autumn Afternoon," to avoid the same mistake: Marry his daughter now, before she is too old.
"Ummm," responds Hirayama. He reveals no apparent emotion. He lives at home with a son and daughter, and she waits on both of them. Another son is married. He considers his teacher's sorrowful advice.

At his office, a young women his daughter's age is getting married. Perhaps the old man is correct. The night of the dinner, the students take their teacher home. They find he and his daughter now run a noodle shop, and she is fed up with him for getting drunk again. She cares for her father, but is trapped and unhappy.

From time to time I return to Ozu feeling a need to be calmed and restored. He is a man with a profound understanding of human nature, about which he makes no dramatic statements. We are here, we hope to be happy, we want to do well, we are locked within our aloneness, life goes on.

وفى مكتبه تتزوج شابة فى مثل عمر ابنته ، ربما كان كلام المعلم العجوز صحيحا.
وفى ليلة العشاء يصطحب التلاميذ معلمهم إلى منزله وقد وجدوا أنه مع ابنته يديران محلا للمعجنات وقد فاض بها الكيل منه لسكره مجددا، إنها مهتمة بأبيها ولكنها محاصرة وغير سعيدة.

As with any kind of episodic or sketch comedy, some gags land more effectively than others, although you'll likely find a line or a beat or an image that makes you laugh from start to finish. Through it all, the actresses seem game for anything, staying completely committed to the delusional characters they've created and reveling not only in their flamboyance but also in their vulnerability. They allow us to genuinely enjoy these women (although spending 85 minutes with them is plenty) while also recognizing their flaws.
Raphael and Wilson (and Kate and Chloe) owe a great debt to "Romy and Michele's High School Reunion,"

فى كل هذا تجد النساء مادة للسخرية فى أى شئ بالتزامهن التام بالشخصيات الوهمية التى يبتدعنها وابتهاجهن ليس فقط بالتوهج ولكن أيضا بالحساسية . إنهن يدعننا نستمتع بهؤلاء النساء حقيقة (بالرغم من أن البقاء معهن لمدة 85 دقيقة يعتبر كثيرا جدا) فى حين نتعرف أيضا على عيوبهن.

the still-hilarious 1997 comedy that was both silly and sweet and allowed clueless female characters to be ditzy and shallow while remaining true to each other. Despite Raphael and Wilson's fondness for pushing the humor into brash, crass directions (as evidenced by that opening shot), their characters clearly have an innate decency and a loyalty to each other that's heartening.
At the same time, "Ass Backwards" is a welcome departure from the script they co-wrote for 2009's "Bride Wars," an ugly example of longtime female friends tearing each other apart for the sake of broad laughs.

وفى نفس الوقت فإن "الحمير للخلف" هو رحيل استقبالى من السيناريو الذى كتبوه سويا فى 2009 "حرب العرائس" وهو مثال قبيح للنساء الصديقات على المدى الطويل الباكيات على فراق بعضهن من أجل الضحكات الجذلة.

Ford had his eye on John Wayne from the days when he was called Marion Morrison, nicknamed Duke, and was a football player from USC, working summers at 20th Century-Fox. In the decade before "Stagecoach" Wayne worked in some 40 Westerns, from an extra to a lead, without distinguishing himself. First of all, there are virtually hundreds of amazing hiking trails, which run through cool forests and picturesque meadows. Our personal favourites are the sunny and quiet route from Zheleznitsa Village to Fizkulturnik Mountain Hut and the footpath between the villages of Bistritsa and Zheleznitsa which is not steep at all and is excellent for picnics and relaxing walks.

The general story is familiar, perhaps even predictable, to anyone who has ever read about child stars, but seldom has it been told with such intimacy and immediacy. Few people can ever have reflected on the fate of child stars as thoroughly as Cary, or had as much reason to do so, and her unique insight gives the film a vibrancy few documentaries about silent cinema can match. There is no one else alive able to articulate the experiences she discusses.
To her, Baby Peggy is another human being, a role she performed, to be spoken about in the third person. This is unsurprising, given the gulf between the infant who was onscreen in the 1920s and the elderly woman who looks back at her from the 21st Century.

But what is surprising is that she thought of Baby Peggy as a separate person even when she was a child. Forty years later, looking at her young son, she felt surges of resentment towards him because he was simply sitting and playing on the floor of their house. Why, she wanted to demand of him, was he not out working? The psychological cost of being Baby Peggy was severe.

"Frozen," the latest Disney musical extravaganza, preaches the importance of embracing your true nature but seems to be at odds with itself.

It encourages young women to support and stay loyal to each other—a crucial message when mean girls seem so prevalent—as long as some hunky potential suitors and adorable, wise-cracking creatures also are around to complete them.

It all seems so cynical, this attempt to shake things up without shaking them up too much. "Frozen" just happens to be reaching theaters as Thanksgiving and the holiday shopping season are arriving.

When they were young girls, sisters Anna and Elsa were joyous playmates and inseparable friends. But Elsa's special power—her ability to turn anything to ice and snow in a flash from her fingertips—comes back to haunt her when she accidentally zaps her sister. (Not unlike the telekinesis in "Carrie," Elsa inadvertently unleashes her power in moments of heightened emotion.) A magical troll king heals Anna and erases the event from her memory, but as for the sisters' relationship, the damage is done.

عندما كانت الأختان آنا وإلزا صغيرتان كانتا مرحتان وصديقتان لاتنفصلان ولكن قدرة إلزا الخاصة - قدرتها على تحويل أى شئ إلى ثلج وجليد ببريق من أطراف أصابعها- تعود لتؤرقها عندما تؤثر بها على أختها.(وبالإختلاف عن "التحريك عن بعد" كما فى "كارى" فإن إلزا بدون قصد تطلق قوتها فى أوقات تصاعد عاطفتها). ويأتى ملك أسطورى ذو قوة جبارة ليبرئ آنا ويمحى من ذاكرتها هذا الحدث ولكن بالنسبة للعلاقة بين الأختين فإن الضرر قد وقع فعلا.
