Apartment search, I was turned down due to that I am foreigner.

In the past time, my son could not enroll to baby care because lack of information in english.

Even in big museums like in Ueno often there isn't enough information in English. For example they only provide headsets in Japanese. As foreigners pay tax the city governments should provide more information in English at museums. The city government provide fully bilingual websites. And employ a person who can speak information. When I went to city hall nobody could speak English well so I didn't get the information I wanted.

上野ような大きな博物館でさえ、英語表記された情報が十分でない。例えば、ヘッドセットは日本語対応のみだ。役所に税金を払っている外国人としては、博物館でより多くの情報を英語で提供すべきだと思う。役所は完璧なバイリンガルウェブサイトを提供してほしい。英語で情報を提供できる人を雇用してほしい。役所に行った時、だれも英語を喋れなかったので、欲しい情報を入手できなかった。

At restaurants, if there were no pictures I could not eat there. Shopping at the local grocery store with no English speaking associates to answer questions, made buying food challenging. Some trains, the map would switch from English to Japanese. Although, some trains don't have that feature and I have to use a train application on my smartphone. If not for the app, I would be lost often!

Sometimes the signage is available in English but there are no staff members who can communicate in English fully so it's misleading and disappointing.

電柱の近くを歩いている間、立ち入り禁止ゾーンでは非常に気まずい思いをしました。適切なガイダンスはありませんでした。

レストランでは、写真が無かったので、そこで食事ができませんでした。地元の食料品店で買い物をするときは、英語をしゃべる人がいないので、質問に答えてもらえません。食料を購入するのが大変です。英語から日本語に切り替わる電車や地図もあります。しかし電車の中には、その機能が備わっていないものあるので、スマホ上の電車アプリを使わなければなりません。そのアプリが機能しない場合、迷ってしまうこともたびたびあります！

英語表記もありますが、すべて英語でやり取りできるスタッフがいないので、間違った案内をされて落胆することも珍しくありません。

I went to ask the information in city hall but I have to wait for long time to get the person who can speak English

sometimes there is english explanation or sign but it was written in wrong english and it took sometime to understand the message

When I made a special journey to visit a park I was shocked because they were locking the gates so I couldn't enter. I had been to the park before but never saw any information about closing times in English.

I have had no problems, speaking and reading Japanese since before I came to Japan. However, I know that the lack of English guidance, poor-English guidance and lack of English speakers can present problems to the more timid traveler.

情報を尋ねるために役所に行ったが、英語が話せる人が車で、長時間待たなければならなかった。

時々、英語での説明や表示があるが、間違った英語表記なので、メッセージを理解するのに時間がかかる。

特別な旅を計画して公園を訪れた時、ショックを受けた。ゲートを閉めていたので入れなかったからだ。以前にも行ったことがある公園だったが、そういった閉園時間に関する英語表記の情報は見たことがなかった。

日本に来る前には、日本語の読み書きに問題は無かった。だが、より多くの内気な旅行者にとっては、英語ガイダンスの不足、下手な英語で書かれたガイダンス、そして英語を話せる人が不足していることが問題であることを知った。

Since rules were only posted in Japanese at the park, I mistakenly went into a place that was off limits.

When I use the metro, I find it hard when I need to insert the ticket, and if the ticket is also valid for a transfer location, or just a single one. Sometimes I am expected to insert two tickets at the same time, but I wouldn't know that unless I was showed how to do it.

中央線で山梨県を旅している時、電車内から自分でドアを開けるシステムがあったのだが、情報不足のせいで2時間遅れる羽目になった。次の電車が来てからは、自分でやった。

ビザを延長する時、入国管理事務所の中に英語をしゃべるスタッフがいなかった。文字通り、彼らは日本語しか話さないのである。自分にはちょっと理解しがたいことだ。

The services at the office ward and post offices cannot be done smoothly as many of the staff cannot speak in English.

Tattoo policy... No gaijin allowed restaurants/shops If a sudden problem with the train occurs, the driver will talk on the train's intercom... Only in Japanese. Usually the automatic speaker says "sugi wa, shinjuku eki... The next station is Shinjuku". But if the driver has to report an emergency, it is only in Japanese.

Sometimes the map showed in my phone is in Japanese and it's hard to find places that I want to visit like restaurant, cafe or government offices nearby my area of residence.

I broke my arm and went to a hospital and was refused service due to a lack of Japanese speaking ability a decade ago and was refused service, then went to another hospital and the same thing happened, then was fine at the 3rd. This is stupid. I was saying "わたしの腕が壊れた。" at the 2 previous hospitals, yet was still refused help. This was terrible.

It's hard to find the right exit in Shinjuku station in Tokyo, since it's such a big station. I took the wrong exit and ended up walking outside to opposite side of the station.

Public utilities: the signs doesnt have english translation inside the toilet. I accidentally pressed the button for emergency help instead of the flush button.

10年前だけど、腕を骨折したの病院へ行ったんだけど、日本語を話す能力不足で治療を拒否されたことがあった。それで別の病院に行ったんだけど同じことが起こったんだ。それで3番目の病院で治療をしてもらったよ。こんなことばかげてるよ。私は前の2つの病院で「私の腕が壊れた」と日本語で言ったんだけど、それでも治療してもらえなかった。恐ろしいことだったよ。

東京の新宿駅で目指す出口を見つけるのは大変だ。大きな駅だからね。間違った出口に行ってしまって、駅の反対側に出てしまったんだよ。

公共のユーティリティ：トイレの中の表示は、英語で書かれていない。あやまって、水を流すボタンじゃなくて緊急ボタンを押しちゃったんだ。

All the documents I have received from city hall, were not all written in English. I had a hard time changing my alien residency card to Mynumber card because the procedure was written in English. I had no idea how to change my card and the lady at City hall did not speak any English at all. I someone managed to change with as I had to communicate in Japanese.

The trains cannot be used effectively without talking to the staff, and the staff don't speak English.

When comparing the Japanese information to the translated English information, the English translation is often of very low quality and more confusing then helpful.

I received a lot of messages from Japan when I was home and I thought it would not charge me as long as I do not reply back. When I came home,I got my bill worth 200,000yen. I confronted the same shop clerk I talked before and she denied that she told me that I can bring my phone doing nothing to it. I ended up paying the money and cut off my phone.

I am at the train station and can't find the line i need to ride, i asked a staff in english but they can't understand me.

But rather than focus on fitness, Sona is geared toward understanding stress levels and regulating a person’s autonomic nervous system, which controls breathing, heart rate, and a person’s fight or flight response. To do that, Sona measures heart rate variability, or the difference in timing between heartbeats.

Heart rate variability is mostly frequently used by athletes to help them determine how well they’re able to recover from activity and whether their body is overstressed and therefore not in a good position to work out. It also was an early metric for monitoring astronauts health in space.

The cosmonauts succeeded in hitting these benchmarks, as well.
