私たちは、何よりも絵本は「子どもに読ませる本ではなく、大人が読んであげる本」だと考えました。「大人がくりかえし読んであげることで、はじめて子どもたちは絵本の世界をたっぷりと楽しむことができ、心を豊かに育てることができる」と考えたからです。そのために一番ふさわしい絵本は、当代一流の著者・画家が子どもたちのために全力を注いでつくる「大人も子どももいっしょに感動できるすぐれた絵本」です。この考え方は、ずっと一貫した私たちの基本姿勢となっています。

We think picture books are the books children read, but ones adults read for children. We think children can enjoy the world of picture books when the adults read the books for them again and again, to enrich children’s mind. For that purpose, picture books created by the first class author/illustrator with its best effort are most fit. This is our ever lasting policy.
