私たちは、何よりも絵本は「子どもに読ませる本ではなく、大人が読んであげる本」だと考えました。「大人がくりかえし読んであげることで、はじめて子どもたちは絵本の世界をたっぷりと楽しむことができ、心を豊かに育てることができる」と考えたからです。そのために一番ふさわしい絵本は、当代一流の著者・画家が子どもたちのために全力を注いでつくる「大人も子どももいっしょに感動できるすぐれた絵本」です。この考え方は、ずっと一貫した私たちの基本姿勢となっています。

We believe, more than anything, "picture books are not the books adults tell their children to read, but the books that adults read to the children". We think that when adults read same books many times to the children, the children come to enjoy picture books thoroughly for the first time and that helps their mind grow rich. So the most appropriate picture books for them are those ones which are written and illustrated by the best creators and which are made in such a way that both adults and children can enjoyed and feel moved together. This belief has been our constant basic idea.
