Among those families who successfully kept away from television, several interesting observations were reported. Some parents were glad to end the daily struggle among family members to decide what program to watch. In some families, the family went to bed earlier. Family members found other things to do, such as reading or playing volleyball. Many families found that they had more time to talk and play among themselves without television. Dinner times were more relaxed without the pressure .

テレビを見ないで過ごすことができた家族の内、いくつかの面白い観察ができた。ある家族の親達は家族内でのどの番組をみるかの毎日のチャンネル争いから解放されて嬉しいということになった。他の家族では早く就寝するようになった。家族は他にすること、例えば読書とかバレーボールをするなどを見つけた。多くの家族が話す時間が増え、テレビ以外の遊びの時間も増えた。夕食はあわてることもなくなりゆっくりとれるようになった。
