原文の書き方がそもそも分かりづらいですが、この場合my friendは主語ではなく、「ねえ」「おい」「いいですか（よく聞いてください）」の意味です。売り手と買い手のやり取りであると読み取れます。

The original English sentence is a little bit confusing as it is not so well-written, but it should be "My friend, like I said, I would like to..." so in this case "my friend" is just an expression to get someone's attention, and not an actual "friend" of the speaker.
