Robots are being used today to do tasks that are too dirty, dangerous, difficult, repetitive or dull for humans. Most them are industrial robots used in factories. Since the late 1950s, robots have been used for the jobs in factories that involve repeating the same action over and over again. People get tired or bored in such situations, but robots do not, and it's nothing for them to do the same thing thousands of times a day.

今日、ロボットは人間にとってあまりにも汚い、危険、難しい、反復的でつまらないなどの仕事に利用されている。その多くは工場で使用される工業用ロボットである。１９５０年代後半から、工場での同じ作業を何度も繰り返す作業にロボットは用いられている。人間はそのような状況に飽きてしまうが、ロボットは飽きるということがなく、一日に何千回と繰り返しても何ともないのだ。
