私は旅行と外食が好きです。レストランに入ると、写真が無いメニューの多いこと。写真が少しだけ載っているメニューもありますが、写真が無いメニューのほうが気になります。なぜって？写真が載っているメニューは、店側が売りたい、つまり店側が儲かるメニューであって、本当においしいかどうかわからないから。この考えっておかしいかな？
写真が無くて文字だけだと、どんな料理なのか想像すらできない。料理は目で楽しむとも言いますし、やっぱり選ぶ時点で写真は欲しいものです。英語以外で書かれたメニューならなおさらですよね。
そこで私は、みんなで写真付きのメニューを作るサービスを考え付きました。レストランの一覧をサイト上に用意しておき、ユーザは写真とメニュー名を該当するレストランのページに投稿するだけ。簡単でしょ。

I like travel and dining out. I went to many restaurants that provide menus without pictures of their foods. I am rather interested in foods without pictures of how they look. Why? It is because I think the menus with pictures are what they want to offer to you; that is, those foods make money. Do you think I am cynical?
When a menu has no pictures of their foods, we cannot understand even how they look like, still less their tastes. Many say that we enjoy and taste a food with its appearance. I, therefore, absolutely need the picture when I choose a dish. If a menu is explained in languages other than English that I cannot understand, I really want pictures. Of course for those who can understand the languages, it’s not necessary.
So I decided to make a service to provide a series of menus with pictures. I show the list of restaurants on my Web site. You users can only input the name of a menu and its picture to the pages of appropriate restaurants. It’s very easy, don’t you think so?
