NTT Docomo Partners with Baidu on Games, Mobile Content in China

Today Japan’s NTT Docomo said that it has come to an agreement with search giant Baidu on a joint venture focusing on game distribution and mobile content in China, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal.

When we spoke with Docomo late this afternoon, a representative could not disclose more details but briefly added that it would be involved in the mobile portal business. Baidu will hold 80 percent of the joint venture, and Docomo 20 percent.

Wall Street Journal 誌の報告によると、本日、日本の NTT Docomo は検索エンジン大手の Baiduと、中国国内のゲームの配布、モバイルコンテンツに関するジョイントベンチャーを始めることを同意したと発表しました。

本日の午後に Docomoに確認したところによると、更なる詳細は公開しませんでしたが、モバイルポータルビジネスに関連する提携だという事は明かしてくれました。Baiduがジョイントベンチャーの株の80%を所持し、残りの20%をDocomoが所持します。
