Gideonは、神に命じられてもいないのに、ephodを作り、宗教的指導者になろうという傲慢さがありました。それが彼の働きを台無しにしてしまい、結局、民全体をも堕落させる結果となりました。
私たちにとっても、傲慢は最も恐ろしい罪です。常に主のみことばを慕い求めながら、主が命じておられることを聞き、主の前に謙遜になることが必要です。

Gideon was arrogant mading ephod and tryed to become a religeous leader even though he was not ordered to do so by the God. That made his work jeopardized and all of people corrupted.
Arrogance is the worst enemy of all for all of us. You need always long for the God and listen to what the God is saying and also to be humble before the God.

I believe what you need to do is to live according to you mission honestly. That will bring about a wonderful life much better one than being a king.
