Kyoto-based start-up Willile Mobile is developing a smartphone ad network by using the natural language processing technokogy for behavioral targeting. This is in partnership with Kyoto University’s professor Dr. Sadao Kurohashi, who’s known as an authority on this technology.

It’s not just about detecting words contained in a user-submitted query, but also finding the contextual meaning of the query to determine the best search advertising results for the user.

They have also set up a subsidiary in Hong Kong last April and have started their smartphone ad sales in China, Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia and Cambodia.
