JISZ8103に「標準器又は計測器が、より高位の標準によって次々と校正され、国家標準につながる経路が確立されていること」と定義されています。
トレーサブル(Traceable)とは、由来をたどることが出来るという意味であり、計測器の管理番号などからを校正記録を突き止められます。

計測器には全て管理用ラベルが貼付され、有効期限が表示されています。
期限の到来時には精度検査を行って合格なら期限を更新します。

JISZ8103 defines “there must be an official process in which a standard instrument or any other measuring instrument is calibrated one after another by the higher standard. Such a process must lead to the national standard."

Being Traceable means that it is possible to trace the origin of something. A calibration record of a measuring instrument can be traced from its serial number.

Every measuring instrument has a serial number that shows the term of validity.

When the term expires, the instrument go through an accuracy / precision test. The term will be extended if the instrument passes the test.
