日本では1960年代に始まった本格的なパブリックアートの文化は今日に至るまで続いており、数え切れない程の作品が街中に置かれるようになりました。今日では、おそらく日本全国に数十万点以上の作品が存在するでしょう。
しかし、それらの多くは芸術的価値に関わらず、街を歩く人々に殆ど見向きもされず素通りされている状態です。
今回は、そのように存在意義がいまいち不明瞭である、パブリックアートというものを取り上げてみました。


下記の５エリアに点在する彫刻を合計１００点紹介します。

The real public art which started in Japan in 1960's have continued until today, and now placed countless a lot of work of art everywhere in town. Nowadays there seem probably several hundreds of thousand works in all over Japan.
But most of those are not looking back on and people walking the town goes through them regardless those artistic value.
This time I tried to pick up those public arts which does not have enough meaning of existence.

I introduce 100 sculptures in total scattered in 5 area below.
