敷地は100坪以上という条件のもと、土地探しからスタートした【トトロ】の家。
色々と探した甲斐あって、164坪の土地に191坪の農地が合わさった映画「となりのトトロ」の原風景の様な敷地と出会う事が出来た。
屋根形状は周辺建物との一体性を考え切妻屋根とし、大屋根とする事で平屋的な佇まいを表現できる様にした。
田んぼや小川からの心地よい風を取り入れる大きな窓や、季節によってその「居所」を変えていける大きな回廊式の縁側など、この環境を活かした自然体で居心地よく暮らせる建物を目指した。

Under the condition
that the premises should be more than
100 building area, we started to search for the premise to find 'Totoro''s house.
It was well worth looking for here and there, we found
the ground of 164 building area, combined of 191 building area of agricultural land, which is almost like a original scenery of the movie, 'Tonarino Totoro'.
We have chosen gable roof to appreciate the unity of surroundings,
we have chosen big roof to represent flat building.
Big window to get comfortable wind from the rice field and brook,
cloistered veranda-like porch to change 'where to stay' according to the season, our target was to construct
natural and comfortable
house, utilizing this environment.
