Not only the people godlike, the environment that sustained them was a perfect Eden,
overflowing with "natural" abundance.
I thought I was transported into the garden of Eden.

And what poetic fiction has painted of Eden is here realized, where the earth without tillage
produces both food and clothing, the trees loaded with richest of fruit,
the carpet of nature with the flowers.

As every part of the island produces food without the help of man, it may of this country be said
that the curse of Eden has not reached it .... no man having his bread to get by the sweat
of his brow nor has he thorns in his path.

神々しい人々だけでなく、それを維持するための環境も完璧な楽園で、豊富な「自然」であふれていた。
私はエデンの園へ運ばれたのだと思った。

そして詩的なフィクションが描いていたエデンがここだと気づいた。ここは耕地でないところから食べ物や衣服が生まれ、
木々には最も豊かなフルーツが実り、花で出来た自然のカーペットがあった。

この島のどの部分も男の助けを得ず食べ物を生み出しており、エデンの呪いがそこに達していないとこの国が言われているようだった…
生活の糧を得るためにその額に汗を流す男は誰もいなかったし、茨の道を歩んできたものもいなかった。

私は決してよく出来た男たちを見なかった
