7月2日、日本旅行業協会（JATA）新会長の田川博己氏（現ジェイティービー代表取締役会長）が会見を行ない、新今後の取組みなどについて語った。

田川氏は6月18日に実施された定時総会で会長に就任、前会長の菊間潤吾氏は副会長となった。

新体制について田川氏は、「テクニカルな部分では大きく変わりはない」とし、海外は菊間氏、訪日を丸尾和明氏、国内は吉川氏と各委員会を３人の副会長がとりまとめる。旅行業界の社会的意義向上などさまざまな取組みを進め、観光立国から観光大国の実現を目指すという。

On July 2, Mr. Hiromi Tagawa, the New Director, Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA) or current CEO of JTB held a press briefing and talked about how they address their business in the future.

Mr. Tagawa assumed a post of director for JATA during the fixed general meeting held on June 18, and the former director Mr. Jungo Kikuma assumed the post of deputy director.

Director Tagawa said that the new configuration as “nothing was changed in technicality” and three deputy directors would take control of each of three committees for which they sit as the chairman of respective committee for Mr. Kikuma took in charge of customers visiting overseas, Mr. Kazuaki Maruo took for visiting customers to Japan, and Mr. Yoshikawa took for domestic customers. He also said that the association would aim realize the great tourist destination country from the tourism oriented country by addressing the variety of activities including the improvement of social awareness among travel industry.
