カナダの建国記念日に当たる７月1日に、トロント観光局が東京都港区のアカデミーヒルズでレセプションを開催。特別協力のMPIジャパンチャプターの会員をはじめ、企業のミーティングプランナー、旅行会社などから多数のMICE関係者が参加した。

現在トロントが注目されている理由として、羽田からも直行便が就航すること、「赤毛のアン」の舞台であるプリンスエドワード島に近いこと、安全・安心・フレンドリーな都会であること、2017年に建国150周年の記念イベントが企画されていることなどがある。

On July 1st that falls on Founation Day of Canada, Tronto Tourism Bureay held a reception at Academy Hills in Minato-ku, Tokyo. A large number of those who are involved in MICE such as members of MPI Japan Chapter, which coopearted on special base, meeting planner of the companies and tourist companies participated in it.

The reasons that Tronto is focused on now are that a direct flight is flown from Haneda Airport, it is close to Prince Edward Island that is where "Anne of the Green Gable" was performed, it is a safe, relaxing and friendly city as well as 150th anniversary of the nation's foundation is planned in 2017.
