通じないことはないのですが、文法ミスがやや気になります。メールやチャットではあまり問題ではないかもしれませんが、紙で書いた文章に使うとなると注意が必要です。用語自体はそれほど不自然ではないのでもう一歩です。

一つ質問ですが、最後の一文でwouldがamに変わるのはなぜでしょうか？ratherの表現はwouldかthanを合わせて使うことしか知らないので、amになる理由が分かりません。教えていただければ幸いです。

wouldをあえて使うとするとI would rather be... となるでしょう。いずれにしてもbe worried aboutの形ですので。ポイントはそこです。ただI am worried aboutの方が自然に感じる。ただそれだけです。
