現在の松本城は石川数正が築城したお城です。深志城という別名で親しまれており、この名は戦国時代の小笠原氏治世のころからの名称です。現存する最古の城として国宝に指定されています。中信（中部信州）の中心都市として松本市は今でも賑わいを保っています。
