English

After the Kyobashi-Shibaura route was completed in 1962, it was extended to the Haneda Airport in time for Tokyo Olympics in 1964. The Shinkansen, the bullet train, started its service on October 1st, just ten days ahead of the opening ceremony. Both of them were looked as a symbol of the recovery from the World War 2. The photo of the highway at night can be seen here as of now. It looks far more beautiful on film than the real thing and seems like Si-Fi comics we read in childhood come true.
Snapshot:"A quickly-taken photograph of an instantaneous action or expression in people and others. A snap." Taken from Daijirin, Japanese Dictionary.
