The main pleasures of "The Raid 2" come from watching Evans take time setting up and knocking down his George R.R. Martin-worthy inventory of characters. Visually, "The Raid 2" is his most joyfully creative film. Leone-esque wide angle shots, and dizzyingly assured hand-held photography make every confrontation feel momentous. More importantly, none of Evans's character, not even a mirror-glasses-clad, cane-twirling baddy like Bejo, are place-holding cyphers, though he does tend to gravitate towards men (and one woman) of action, like the machete-wielding Prakoso (Yayan Ruhian).

Os maiores prazeres de "The Raid 2" vem quando assistimos Evans ajeitando se e derrubando o seu inventario de caracteres da marca George R.R. Mrtin-worthy. Visualmente, "The Raid 2" é o mais divertido e criativo filme dele. Cenas tipo Leone-esque, e uma fotografia que foi vertiginosamente assegurada para ser feita manualmente , faz cada confronto parecer importante. Mais importante, nem um dos personagens de Evans, nem mesmo um vilão que parece o cão chupando manga de óculos espelhado como o Bejo, são posicionados segurando cifras, embora ele tenda a procurar homens (e uma mulher) de atitude. Como o soldador de maquetes Prakoso (Yayan Ruhian).
