On the face of it, Quentin Tarantino declaring the second-rate Israeli torture thriller "Big Bad Wolves" the best film of 2013 is patently ridiculous, especially given how seriously inferior it is to Tarantino's own work in the grisly exploitation field. But there's an obvious logic to it. It's been nearly twenty years since the big raft of post-"Pulp Fiction" Tarantino imitations got the bum's rush from critics and audiences. So it must be some comfort to the auteur to find that Tarantino-aping hasn't died out entirely; it's just moved to Israel.
Em função disso, Quentin Tarantino declarar que o filme israelense de suspense e tortura, "Big Bad Wolves", de segunda classe, foi o melhor filme de 2013 é patentemente ridículo, especialmente considerando como esse é seriamente inferior ao trabalho do próprio Tarantino na exploração macabra do tema. Mas existe uma lógica óbvia nisso. Já se passaram quase vinte anos desde que a grande leva de imitações do trabalho de Tarantino após "Pulp Fiction" foi procurada avidamente por críticos e espectadores. Assim, deve ser algum conforto para o autor descobrir que a tendência de copiar o que Tarantino fez não morreu totalmente, apenas se mudou para Israel.
