痛車（いたしゃ）とは、車体に漫画・アニメ・ゲームなどに関連するキャラクターやメーカーのロゴをかたどったステッカーを貼り付けたり、塗装を行うなどして装飾した自動車である。「痛い」という言葉のネガティブイメージに違和感を抱き、あえて「萌車（もえしゃ）」と呼ぶ人もいる。見るに堪えない（「痛い」・「痛々しい」）車という意味に加え、奇抜なデザインが特徴である「イタ車（イタリア車）」との、いわゆる「語呂合わせ」でもある。

Itasha is a vehicle ornamented with manga/anime/game-related characters or maker logos in form of stickers or painted carosery. The "itai" (painful) part of the name's negative connotations imply awkwardness, so some people prefer calling them "moesha". Apart from those "painful to look at" cars, "itasha" meaning "Italian cars", with their novel design, exist, making the name a pun.
