I know it has something to do with power. I have always felt that anything was possible, that I could do anything I set my mind to, and that I just had to figure out how. I knew this from the time I was a toddler, and sequestered myself in my bedroom determined not to leave until I had taught myself to tie my own shoes. I can still see myself trying different knots and twists and turns until I finally GOT IT!! I had such a feeling of power and accomplishment.

Eu sei que tem algo a ver com poder. Eu sempre achei que qualquer coisa era possível, que eu poderia fazer qualquer coisa que eu colocasse em minha mente, e que eu teria apenas que entender como fazer. Eu sabia desde quando eu era uma criança pequena, e me sequestrei em minha cama, determinada a não sair até que eu tivesse me ensinado a amarrar meus próprios saparos. Eu ainda me vejo testando diferentes nós e torcidas e viradas até que finalmente eu CONSEGUI!! Eu tive um grande sentimento de poder e realização.
