Kakaotalk app gets a makeover on Android, updated to v4.0

Popular chat app Kakaotalk has been updated to v4.0 on Android today, bringing with it a makeover that refreshes the interface.

There are no major new features in the update, but the revamp gives the Android version of Kakaotalk a fresh look thats a bit more minimal, a tad more ‘flat’, and more in line with how apps should look on Android 4.0+ (the OS, I mean). Which is a good thing. The app didn’t look too good before (the same can be said of Line and WeChat on Android), so it’s a welcome makeover. Here’s a comparison of the old vs new look:

人気のあるチャットアプリKakaotalkは本日、Android上でv4.0にアップデートし、インターフェイスのイメージを変える変更を行った。

今回のアップデートでは新たな追加機能はないが、この改良でKakaotalkのAndroid版は新たな外見となった。それは最小限で、幾分「平面的」で、Android 4.0+ (OSのこと)上でアプリはこう見せるべきという内容に沿っている。これは良いことだ。このアプリは以前は見かけがあまり良くなかった(同じことはAndroidのLineやWeChatにも言える)。そのためこの改良は歓迎だ。以下は新版、旧版の外見の比較である。
