に大切な場所です。亡くなったに日蓮を荼毘に付したところです。火葬して、遺灰を大切に保存したところです。
中には外側と同じ宝塔が入っており、日蓮が持っていた数珠が保存されています。1年に一度、10月12日お会式の日の夜に、扉が開かれ、ライトアップされ、中を見ることができます。内部もとても美しいです。

これは、今から185年前の江戸時代に作られました。外側の丸い部分は、大きな木をくりぬいた板をつなぎ合わせています。木はゆがみがあるので、建築技術は高度です。特別に高度な技術を持っている

Within the premises of this temple, there are many building structures related to Nichiren and Munenaka.

There has been a story passed along generation to generation that the cherry blossom around there has opened up, when Nichiren died, in spite of in autumn and those actually opens up in autumn even now.

October 12 is the busiest day in a year around Honmonji. A lot of people visit during the night time making this area sea of people. You may feel like the Halloween in Salem. It is the event in darkness with amazing streams of lights which gives very beautiful scenery. It is called Oeshiki or the anniversary of death of highest priest Nichiren.　People walk in line joyfully with raising the lighted lanterns drawn the cherry blossom on the outer housing.
