CPSC Publishes Final Rules for Infant Swings within Federal Register
On November 7, 2012, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) staff published within the federal register the final rules for infant swings. The final rules will adopt the ASTM F2088-12a standard as mandatory with two specified modifications and will become effective May 7, 2013

Background of CPSIA
Under the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA), the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is required to study current industry safety standards related to certain infant & toddler products and to make an assessment as to whether those standards would be considered sufficient safety standards.
