I'd like to define propspective customers into two types depend on their attributes.
One is customers who already understand products, the other is those who don't know products.
There should be no problem to approach the former, because those customers try to find product pages through online search with whatever keywords related to the products.

The key issue is how to approach customers who don't know products.
First, create a official web in Japanese.

After creation of the official web, make a press release and consult online HM dealers about selling products.

HM Dealer = Herman Miller Dealer. That means the official distributors of Herman Miller furniture in Japan. They have showrooms and sell directly to walk-in customers and large companies making chair orders.

Again, they would be able to market only directly on their website. All the online markets in Japan would be exclusively yours.

I am going to have to draft a contract, which is going to take a bit of time. Meanwhile, I would start informing the other sellers if/when they try to make an order that exclusive rights have been given. So you don't really have to wait for a contract.
