2月13日、東京近代美術館で「1964デザインプロジェクト」が開幕。

東京オリンピックはスポーツの祭典にとどまらず、戦後のデザイナーが総力を挙げて取り組んだ一大デザインプロジェクトでもあった。

田中一光をはじめとする当時の若手デザイナーたちが、施設案内のためのピクトグラムや、プログラムや会場案内図などの制作に組織的に取り組んだという。

On February 13, "1964 Design project" opens in The Museum of Modern Art,Tokyo .

Tokyo Olympic Games was not only the festival of sports but also the big design project which the postwar designers tackled with might and main.

Young designers of those days including Kazumitsu Tanaka are said to have tackled systematically work of the pictogram for the facility guide, the program, and the hall map, etc.

We are also scheduled to tell you the situation on the project in the "for Olympics bidding" on the spring special number of "Trade Fair Show Communication".
