しかしこのような評価方法は存在しない．そこで本論文は，曲面形状の「美しさ」を定義し，客観的評価手法確立することでスタイルデザイン工程を支援することを目的とする．
　従来，曲面の評価には主に曲率，ハイライト線，エネルギが用いられてきた．
曲率に関しては，曲率変化単調となることが美しいとされている．

Traditionally, curved surface was evaluated by curvature factor, highlight line and energy.
In term of curvature factor, the beauty will defined by its simplicity of the curvature change.
