鉄を濡れたまま放置しておくとサビが出ます。これは鉄の酸化、つまり鉄が空気中の酸素と反応して酸化鉄になる化学反応です。化学反応が起こるときに出る熱を利用したものが「カイロ」です。

カイロを使用する時の注意

カイロが直接肌に触れることを避け、下着の上から付けるか、ハンカチやポーチなどに包んで使うようにします。『貼るタイプ』の場合は、絶対肌に直接貼らないこと。また衣服に貼った場合でも時折位置をずらすようにしてください。

When wet iron is kept standing in an ambient atmosphere, it will get rusted. This is a chemical reaction; that is, oxidation of iron occurs. Iron reacts with oxygen in the air and changes into iron oxides. “Kairo” uses the heat when this chemical reaction occurs.

Caution for using kairo:
Don’t expose your skin directly to a kairo. Separate your skin from a kairo with your shirt or by wrapping it up with handkerchief or something like that.
Don’t’ use an “adhesion –type kairo” directly to your skin. Even if you put it on your body over your clothing, change its position at times.
